About us

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) – Lebanon is the Lebanese National Committee of ICC. Our mission is to achieve ICC objectives of trade facilitation and economic development. Furthermore, it represents the Lebanese private sector and strives for its enhancement. ICC-Lebanon was founded in 1973 in order to integrate Lebanon into the international Business Society.

Inspired by the vision and the values of ICC, the founder of ICC-Lebanon set the grounds to establish the Lebanese National Committee to become a voice of the private sector and the Lebanese economy in general in the international community.

ICC-Lebanon has been strongly committed since its inception, to the mission and the values of ICC, as we were keen to apply the standards and norms to promote international trade and to act in professionally, responsibly and always in strict adherence to the principles of business ethics.

ICC-Lebanon has maintained an excellent web of relationships with the private sector through the Lebanese economic organizations and associations. Its constant concern and commitment is to promote Lebanese products and support Lebanese businesses in exploring foreign markets to enhance two-way investments and enable them to better connect with their international counterparts. ICC has also played and continues to play a major role in addressing the problem faced by the Lebanese economy and seeking solutions with and for all stakeholders.

In addition, ICC maintains strong ties to the public sector through the Commission’s officers, by ensuring a permanent dialogue with the country’s leaders and taking the effective steps to tackle the difficulties, proposing solutions, presenting and supporting pertinent draft laws. It has proven to be and remains highly effective in this role inasmuch as it leverages its wide international connections and the support to the ICC as a world organization.

We list below the founders of ICC-Lebanon as a token of appreciation for their leadership and commitment for its success

Welcome Note

It is with great pleasure that we announce the launching of the new version of the ICC-Lebanon website, an informative platform to keep you updated with the most recent news of the Lebanese National Committee, and the economic themes covered by ICC the World business Organization.

ICC represents the Lebanese private sector in the international community and we are happy to enhance our presence through the various contributions in the different tasks that ICC aims to highlight, undertake and develop.

Over the years, we constantly endeavor to offer the best services to our members of different backgrounds and sectors, from local networking to international contacts. This was effectively achieved by hosting regional and international events, assisting our members within the global business community, in addition to introducing them to the ICC international experts in every field, by proposing candidates for the different Commissions and Task-Forces.

More over our presence internationally has received recognition, as the ICC selection committee approved the membership of Dr. Nayla Comair Obeid as a member of the ICC Executive Board for a mandate of three years upon the recommendation of ICC-Lebanon.

On the eve of our Golden Jubilee, ICC Lebanon aims to attract more members from different economic sectors. We pride ourselves on the rapid expansion of the members of our arbitration community which has expanded significantly in the last decade. We now aim at similarly expanding our network to the different Chambers, joint Business Councils and Business Associations, in order to set a platform for Lebanese businesses, where they can find the needed support and assistance to establish their businesses or to connect with their local or international counterparts.

Our plan for the coming years, despite the critical circumstances we are passing through, is to re-activate the pivotal economic role that Lebanon has played in the region. This mission requires coordination with the different players in the Lebanese scene and ensure an effective cooperation with our colleagues from all over the world.
